Difference between computer architecture and computer organization

Computer Architecture is abstract model and are those attributes that are visible to programmer like instructions sets, no of bits used for data, addressing techniques. A computer's organization expresses the realization of the architecture or how features are implemented like these registers ,those data paths or this connection to memory. contents of CO are ALU, CPU and memory and memory organizations. The difference lies, precisely, between the “What” and the “How” . Computer Architecture is the “What” . Computer Organization is the “How” . CA tells you what the system does. So, knowing about the architecture is basically knowing what functionalities will your system display. What you can expect to get out of it. CO tells you how exactly all units in your system have been arranged and interconnected to help realize the architectural goals your system claims to have achieved. Which is why two systems from two different companies can provide the same functionali...

A mission to sequence the genome of every known animal, plant, fungus and protozoan- a group of single-celled organisms is underway. The Earth BioGenome Project (EBP) has been described as a "moon shot for biology" and aiming to complete the work within a decade. A key aim is to use the information in efforts to conserve threatened species. Dr Jim Smith, director of science at the Welcome Trust described the mission as timely, adding that it was "incumbent upon human beings to raise awareness of biodiversity". From Reuters
